Backlink monitor that checks every placement each week
A backlink monitor is only useful if it tells you something changed before the change costs you, so OffSiteSeo checks every placement every 7 days, sends an email alert when something breaks and replaces a lost link within 12 months.
- No ranking promises. Every paid link uses rel=sponsored.
- Live URL in your report, link checked every week.
- 1 to 40publications a month
- Link checked every7 days
- From24 USDa month, billed yearly
Links do not stay put on their own
A link that was live on the day of publication can still be gone six months later. Publishers redesign their sites, move articles to new URLs, merge old posts, change their robots rules or simply delete pages. Editors sometimes rewrite a paragraph and the link goes with it, or the attribute gets changed during a cleanup.
Most link buyers never notice, because nobody checks after the order closes. The report says the link exists, the budget is spent, and the link quietly disappears. Monitoring closes that gap. It turns a one-time delivery into something you can rely on month after month.
What our backlink monitor checks every 7 days
Every placement bought through your plan goes onto the weekly check list from the day it is verified. Each check looks at the same points.
- The page is live and returns a normal response, not an error or a redirect to an unrelated page.
- Your link is present on the page.
- The link still points to the target URL you chose.
- The attribute is still rel="sponsored", as agreed.
- The anchor text has not been changed.
- The page is still indexable: not blocked in robots rules and not marked noindex.
- The Partner content label is still on the page.
If all points pass, the placement keeps its verified status. If any point fails, the placement is flagged and an alert goes out.
Email alerts when something changes
You receive an email alert when a check fails, with the placement, the live URL, what changed and when we noticed. The alert also appears on the placement in your report, so anyone on your team can see the history without searching through email. On Agency and Scale, alerts follow the client workspace, so each team sees only what belongs to its clients.
Some changes resolve themselves, like a page that is temporarily down for maintenance. The next weekly check confirms whether the problem persists before we treat the link as lost. When it does persist, we contact the publisher first, since many issues are accidental and get fixed quickly.
Lost links are replaced within 12 months
If a link is lost within 12 months of publication and the publisher does not restore it, we replace the placement with a new original article on a comparable site. The replacement does not use a publication from your plan. It goes through the same stages as any order, from Ordered to Link verified, and appears in your report next to the original.
After 12 months, monitoring continues as long as your plan is active, so you still know where every link stands even if a later loss is no longer covered by replacement.
What this monitor is and what it is not
This backlink monitor watches the placements you get through OffSiteSeo. It is not a crawler of the whole web and it does not list every link pointing to your domain from other sources. For a full picture of your link profile, a dedicated link index tool is still useful, and we explain how to use one in backlink competitor analysis.
What it does better than a general tool is focus. It checks your paid placements on a fixed schedule, against the exact target, anchor and attribute that were agreed, and it acts when something breaks.
Why the attribute check matters
Every paid link carries rel="sponsored", following Google and Bing guidance on paid links, and the article shows a Partner content label as FTC guidance expects. The links are not dofollow. If a publisher removed the attribute, the link would turn into a link scheme under Google spam policies, which is a risk for both sides. Our weekly check catches that change and we ask the publisher to restore the attribute. A labeled link that stays live keeps sending readers, keeps your brand on the page and keeps the page discoverable, which is why we watch it.
Monitoring in every plan
Weekly monitoring is included in all plans at no extra cost. Starter is 49 USD a month or 24 USD billed yearly (288 USD), Growth 149 USD or 74 USD yearly (888 USD), Agency 499 USD or 249 USD yearly (2,988 USD), and Scale 1,299 USD or 649 USD yearly (7,788 USD), with 1, 4, 15 and 40 publications per month. A recurring extra publication costs 39 USD a month (19 USD yearly).
See link building prices for the full table, and our link building process page for how placements reach the check list.
Can I monitor links I bought somewhere else?
The monitor covers placements made through OffSiteSeo, because we know the exact agreed target, anchor and attribute for each one. For other links, a general link index tool is the better choice.
How fast will I know if a link disappears?
Within a week, since every placement is checked every 7 days. You get an email alert as soon as a failed check is confirmed.
What counts as a lost link?
A link that is missing, points to a different target, lost its attribute or sits on a page that is no longer live or indexable, and that the publisher does not restore.
Does replacement use one of my publications?
No. A link lost within 12 months of publication is replaced without using a publication from your plan.
What happens to monitoring if I cancel?
Monitoring runs while your plan is active. Before you cancel, you can export the full report with every live URL.
Can my clients see the monitoring results?
On Agency, client roles and white label PDF reports let you share results under your brand. Scale adds an API for your own dashboards.
