Link building FAQ, straight answers before you start
Plain answers about how our placements work, what we promise, what we do not promise and how billing works.
Links and attributes
Are the links dofollow?
No. Every paid placement carries rel="sponsored" on your link, which is what Google and Bing ask for links that were paid for. A paid link without the attribute counts as a link scheme under Google spam policies and can bring a manual action on the publisher and on you. We will not sell a placement that puts either side at that risk.
Why rel=sponsored?
Because it is honest and it is safe. The attribute tells search engines the link is an advertisement, which keeps your domain and the publisher inside the guidelines. Sponsored links still bring referral visits, brand mentions next to relevant topics and discovery of your pages, and Google treats the attribute as a hint rather than a hard rule.
Will these links improve my rankings?
We make no ranking or traffic promises, and nobody honest can. Rankings depend on your site, your content and your competitors. What we deliver is a set number of topical, published and monitored placements every month, each reported with its live URL.
How many links to my site does one article contain?
One. Each article carries a single link to the target page you choose, plus natural references to sources where they help the reader. There are no link blocks, and no links in footers, sidebars or sitewide areas.
What does the Partner content label mean?
Every article shows a short Partner content label on the publishing page, in line with FTC guidance on native advertising. Readers see that the piece is sponsored. The label does not mention OffSiteSeo or link selling.
Catalog and publishers
Why are site names hidden in the catalog?
Site names stay private until an article is live. That protects every site in the catalog from spam outreach and scraping, and the full live URL arrives in your report after publication.
What can I see before I order?
Each catalog entry shows topic category, language, country, indexed pages band, domain age band, placement tier and whether it has capacity this month. An estimated traffic band appears only where a public estimate exists, and we never guess one.
How are publishers reviewed?
Every site passes a manual quality review before it enters the catalog. Editors check that the site is real, maintained, written for people and focused on a clear topic. Sites that stop meeting that standard leave the catalog.
Why does a site have limited capacity each month?
Each site accepts only a few publications per month. That keeps every publisher's archive natural and protects the value of a placement for everyone who buys one.
What is the difference between Standard and Premium?
Premium placements sit on sites with deeper archives, older domains and a stronger topical focus. A Premium placement counts as 2 publications from your monthly allowance and is available on Growth, Agency and Scale. See link building prices for the full plan table.
Writing and approval
Who writes the articles?
Our editors do. Each article is written for the topic and readers of the site that publishes it, and a second editor reviews facts, tone, sources and the placement of your link before it goes to the publisher.
Is an article ever reused on another site?
No. Every placement gets one original article, written for that site only. We never spin, reuse or syndicate the text.
Can I approve the article before it goes live?
Yes. On Growth and higher plans you approve the topic brief before writing starts and can ask for changes to the angle or outline. On every plan you choose the target page and your preferred anchor.
Can I choose the anchor text?
You suggest a preferred anchor for each order. The editor uses it where it reads naturally in the sentence, and may adjust it slightly so the article stays readable and the link looks like a genuine reference.
How long does a placement take?
Timing depends on each publisher's schedule. The Scheduled stage shows the real publish date as soon as the publisher sets it. Your workspace shows the current stage of every order.
Reports and monitoring
What is in a report?
Each placement shows the live URL, anchor, target page, link attribute and publish date. You can export reports as CSV on every plan, as PDF on Growth and as white label PDF on Agency and Scale.
How does link monitoring work?
We check every placement every 7 days: the page is live, your link is present, the target and attribute are unchanged and the page can be indexed (robots rules and noindex). Any change sends you an email alert. Read more about our backlink monitor.
What happens if a link is lost?
If a placement is lost within 12 months of publication, we replace it without using a publication from your plan. The replacement goes through the same writing, review and verification steps.
Plans and billing
How much does link building cost with OffSiteSeo?
Plans start at 49 USD a month for 1 publication, or 24 USD a month billed yearly. Growth is 149 USD, Agency 499 USD and Scale 1,299 USD a month, with yearly billing at half price. Compare everything on the link building prices page.
Can I buy a single link?
No. We work on monthly plans so every placement is written, reported and monitored over time. If you need more volume, add the recurring add-on of one publication a month for 39 USD, or 19 USD a month billed yearly.
Do unused publications roll over?
Yes, for one month. Anything still unused after that month expires.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are final, as set out in our refund policy. You can cancel any time, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Card payments on every plan, monthly or yearly. Scale can also be paid by invoice.
Agencies
Can I resell placements to my clients?
Yes. The Agency plan includes 10 client workspaces, roles for owners, editors and viewers, scheduled reports and white label PDF exports, so your clients see your brand. Scale removes the workspace limit. See white label link building for details.
Do my clients ever see OffSiteSeo?
No. White label reports carry your name and logo, and the published articles never mention OffSiteSeo. Your clients receive the live URLs and status in your format.
Publishers
How do I list my site?
Create a publisher account, add your site and wait for the manual quality review. Listing is free. Once approved, you set your placement tier and start receiving finished articles. Read more on how to sell guest posts.
How do publishers get paid?
You approve the articles you want to publish and get paid for every accepted publication, minus a 30 percent platform commission. You never have to mention link selling on your site.
