Link building process, from brief to verified link
Our link building process turns a choice in the catalog into a published, verified and monitored link through seven visible stages, so you always know where every placement stands and what happens next.
- No ranking promises. Every paid link uses rel=sponsored.
- Live URL in your report, link checked every week.
- 1 to 40publications a month
- Link checked every7 days
- From24 USDa month, billed yearly
The seven stages of every order
Every placement you order moves through the same pipeline, and you see its current stage in your account at all times.
- Ordered. You confirmed the placement, target URL and preferred anchor.
- Brief approved. The topic and outline for the article are set.
- Writing. Our editors write the article for the publisher's readers.
- Editor review. A second editor checks the article against the brief and our rules.
- Scheduled. The publisher has accepted the article and set a publishing date.
- Live. The article is published and the live URL is in your report.
- Link verified. We confirmed the link, target, anchor, attribute and label on the live page.
Timing depends on each publisher's schedule. The Scheduled stage shows the real publish date as soon as the publisher sets it. You plan with real dates rather than estimates.
Step one, choose placements
Start with the finder or the catalog. Enter the page you want to support, choose a topic category, country and language, and filter by indexed pages band, domain age band, tier and availability this month. An estimated traffic band appears where a public estimate exists. Site names stay private until publication.
Add placements to your basket and set a target URL and preferred anchor for each. The basket counts publications against your plan: Standard placements use one, Premium placements use two. If you go over the monthly limit, the basket offers the recurring add-on or a higher plan. Unused publications roll over one month.
Step two, the brief
The brief defines what the article is about, who it is for, the outline and where your link fits. Our editors propose an angle that suits both the publisher's readers and your target page. On Growth and above you review and approve the topic brief before writing starts, and you can ask for a different angle. On Starter our editors set the brief based on your target page.
A good brief keeps the article useful on its own. If an anchor would read unnaturally, the brief suggests a softer one, such as your brand name or a descriptive phrase.
Step three, writing the article
Our editors write one original article per placement, in the site's language and tone, for that site's audience. The article carries one link to you, placed where it helps the reader, plus natural references to sources. It never contains link blocks, footer links or sidebar links, and it is never reused on another site.
Articles are written to stand on their own: practical guides, explainers, how-to pieces and category overviews that a reader of that site would expect to find there.
Step four, editor review
Before an article reaches a publisher, a second editor reviews it. The review checks accuracy, readability, fit with the brief, the placement of the link, the anchor, the Partner content label and the absence of claims we cannot support. Articles that miss the mark go back to writing with notes.
For sensitive topics such as legal or health subjects, the review is stricter: no promises of outcomes, no advice presented as professional advice, no invented statistics.
Step five, scheduling with the publisher
The reviewed article goes to the publisher, who approves it, asks for edits or declines it. Publishers keep full editorial control over their own pages. Once approved, the publisher sets a publishing date, and the stage changes to Scheduled with that date visible to you.
If a publisher declines, our editors revise the article for another fitting placement in the same topic, at no extra publication. You see that move in the status.
Step six, publication and verification
When the article is published, the stage changes to Live and the live URL appears in your report. We then check the page and confirm that your link is present, points to the agreed target with the agreed anchor, carries rel="sponsored", and that the page shows the Partner content label and is indexable. Only then does the placement reach Link verified.
The report lists live URL, anchor, target, attribute and publish date for every placement and exports to CSV on all plans, PDF from Growth and white label PDF on Agency and Scale.
Step seven, weekly monitoring and replacement
After verification, every placement joins the weekly check list. Every 7 days we confirm the page is live, the link present, the target and attribute unchanged, and the page indexable under robots rules and without noindex. A failed check sends an email alert. If a link is lost within 12 months of publication and not restored, we replace it without using a publication. Our backlink monitor page explains the checks in detail.
What the process never includes
Every paid link carries rel="sponsored" and every article shows a Partner content label, in line with Google and Bing guidance on paid links and FTC guidance on native advertising. The links are not dofollow, because a paid link without the attribute is a link scheme under Google spam policies. The attribute is honest about the payment and still lets the article send readers and mentions your way. We never promise rankings, traffic or indexing, and we never use private networks, link blocks or reused articles. Agencies that run this process for clients can read about white label link building, and teams that want the full picture can read about off-site SEO.
Plans that run this process

Agency is 499 USD or 249 USD yearly (2,988 USD) with 15 publications, client roles and scheduled reports. Scale is 1,299 USD or 649 USD yearly (7,788 USD) with 40 publications and a dedicated editor. A recurring extra publication costs 39 USD a month (19 USD yearly). Details on link building prices.
How long does the link building process take?
It depends mostly on the publisher's schedule. Writing and review are quick, and the Scheduled stage shows the real publishing date as soon as the publisher sets it.
Can I change the target URL after ordering?
Yes, until the article reaches Editor review. After that, a change means rewriting part of the article, so ask early.
What if I do not like the brief?
On Growth and above you approve the brief and can ask for another angle before writing starts.
Who writes the articles?
Our editors write every article from scratch for the publisher's readers, and a second editor reviews it before it reaches the publisher.
What happens if a publisher declines my article?
Our editors move it to another fitting placement in the same topic, without using another publication.
When does monitoring start?
As soon as the placement reaches Link verified. From then on it is checked every 7 days.
